Agios Romanos is a sandy paradise and one of the most well-known beaches on Tinos Island. It is located on the south west coast of the island, about 7 kilometers away from the capital. As one of the biggest beaches of Tinos, it features unspoiled spots as well as beach bar. Here you will find umbrellas and sunbeds, where you can relax and enjoy yourself. Agios Romanos consists of powdery sand and crystal clear sea. Due to its beauty, it attracts many visitors, both local people and tourists. The fact that it is situated quite close to the main town plays an important role to its popularity. If you don’t find a sport in the beach bar’s sunbeds, you should know that there are many trees in Agios Romanos. You can use their natural shade to protect yourself from the sun. Due to the fact that the beach is “turned” towards southwest, it does not have waves. This is an important information because during the summer, there are strong north winds on Tinos Island. Also Agios Romanos is protected from waves in a small bay. The beach is a perfect location for families with small children. There is plenty of space for them to play and the sea is quite shallow. Agios Fokas is the longest among Tinos beaches. Its coastline stars right on the east edge of Tinos town, yet the best organized part is on the other side of Agios Fokas beach. There is a road along the beach where you will find many restaurants and taverns serving delicious dishes. You will have the opportunity to try seafood as well as traditional recipes here. Agios Fokas beach, as one of the most famous of Tinos beaches, will exceed the expectations of every visitor. If you don’t like crowded spots next to beach bar, there is plenty of unspoiled space. You can relax there and enjoyed the sound of the sea. It is useful to know that there are many trees on the beach offering natural shade. From Agios Fokas beach, you will have Delos Island for a review, while swimming in the crystal clear water. This part of Tinos attracts people from all over the island, but due to its size, you don’t have to worry about finding a comfortable spot. If you choose to go to unspoiled and secluded spot, make sure you have all the necessary provisions. Beach bar might be far away. Therefore, you should have plenty of water and some snacks with you. It is also useful to know that the beach is “turned” towards south. Therefore, it usually does not have waves. To reach Agios Fokas, you can use the local bus or your own means of transport.
Agios Ioannis or Porto is one of the popular Tinos beaches. Its location, about 7 km east of the capital of the island, makes it easy reachable. If you have your own mean of transport, trip towards Porto beach is even more comfortable. This place is also known as Agios Ioannis. This is a small and picturesque chapel on the east edge of the beach. You will find well organized tourism infrastructure here. There are beach bars offering sunbeds and umbrellas, restaurants as well as taverns. Probably the most important information about Porto beach is that it is situated in a bay. This means that it is protected by waves. This is quite significant as during the summer, northern wind can be disturbing. This amazing among Tinos beaches consist of sand and in some spots, small pebbles. It is also shallow and therefore is safer for children than beaches that get deep abruptly. If you are snorkelling enthusiast, Porto beach will not disappoint you. On both sides there are rocky formations, featuring interesting underwater environment. In Porto beach you will swim with north coast of Mykonos for a view.
Agios Sostis is another popular location among Tinos beaches. Because of its close proximity to Tinos capital, about 6 km. away, it attracts many people. Agios Sostis took its name from a picturesque church. It is located on the west part of the beach, overlooking the sea. It is a nice place and therefore you should check it out. The beach of Agios Sostis is quite long. It consists of sand and in some spots there are small pebbles. It is partially organized, which means that there are sunbeds and umbrellas in some parts of the beach. Yet, most of it is unspoiled and therefore if you have your own umbrellas, we suggest you take it with you. If you will not find a free umbrella on the beach or take your own, there is a solution. There are plenty trees on Agios Sostis offering natural shade.
You will find a beach bar on the beach and few taverns are situated within walking distance from Agios Sostis. Quite important information is that the beach is hidden in a bay, “turned” towards south. This means that it is protected from summer waves created by north winds. Also, during your swim in Agios Sostis, you will have Mykonos Island for a view.
If you wish, you can walk to another beach, located next to Agios Sostis. It is called Agios Ioannis and it is also one of the most popular Tinos beaches. From the east part of Agios Sostis, there is a path leading to Agios Ioannis.
If you have your own mean of transport, you will get to Agios Sostis comfortably.
Kolympithra is located on the north coast of the island. It is also quite famous among Tinos beaches. The scenery here is unique. Kolympithra actually consists of two beaches, one small and one larger. Both beaches consist of powdery sand and of course the sea is crystal clean. On both beaches you will find sunbeds and umbrellas but most of them are on the small beach. The bigger beach is quieter due to its size. There are simply not enough visitors to fill all the spots. Therefore, if you are looking for some quiet time, you should choose this one. Here, you will also find a small water sport center where you can take windsurfing lessons. On the back side of “big Kolympithra” there is an interesting water habitat. Between the two beaches stands a big rock yet, you can walk from one to another.
The “small Kolympithra” is more popular than the big one. It has important advantage. It is hidden from the waves which are formed by the north wind during the summer. The other Kolympithra is more exposed. Each beach features its own cantina which offers drinks and snacks. Therefore you don’t have to worry about bringing your own supplies. There are also two taverns in Kolympithra. One is right on the small beach and the other just above it.
In order to reach Kolympithra from the main town, you will have to drive for about 16 km. This is a small “price” to pay, because you are going to one of the top Tinos beaches. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the landscape and nature of the island.
Kionia is actually a tourism resort situated about 3 kilometers away from Tinos capital. There is a road stretching for more than 1 kilometer along of which there is a beach. It consists of sand and small pebbles. It is quite narrow and in some spots, it features umbrellas and sunbeds. On the southeast part of the beach, there are few trees offering natural shade. In Kionia you will find many restaurants, taverns and cafeterias. You will enjoy here delicious seafood dishes. In Kionia There is also an important archaeological attraction. Many years back Temple of Poseidon and Amphitriti was discovered. You drive from Tinos main town towards Kionia, before the center of the settlement, there is Tsambia beach. It also consists of sand and pebbles. It also features a beach bar. You can get to Kionia using your own meaning of transport or by bus.
Agios Markos is not an actual beach in a total sense. It is a small space below the church, situated on the road between Chora and Kionia. It consists of small pebbles and rocks. It is just few meters long and if you visit it, you will probably have the beach to your disposal. It is located just 2km away from the capital of Tinos. If you are looking for quiet time, this is one of the best places among Tinos beaches to go. There is no shade here and therefore, you should come here prepared. Don’t forget to take with you sufficient amount or water and few snacks.
Panormos is actually a village, which features its own costal settlement. This settlement is situated in north-east Tinos, about 25 km away from the main town. It has its beach, also called Panormos beach. The scenery here is unique. The beach consists of sand about 2 meters from the sea and then pebbles start. Behind the pebbles there are many trees, which offer natural shade. Due to location of the bay in which the beach is situated, might be affected by north winds. This is common during summer months. Yet, the beach is protected from the waves. As Panormos is far away from the main town, it is not that popular like other Tinos beaches. Most of its visitors are local people.
The settlement of Panormos features its own small port with traditional fishing boats called caique. Therefore, you will find many fish taverns here. The food is as freshest as it gets and delicious. There are also cafes, where you can relax after your dinner your and swim. This scenery of small settlement with its own port and beach is very Cycladic and beautiful. Therefor it is definitely one of our suggestions for your vacation on Tinos Island. 
About 1km away to the south of Panormos, there is Rochari beach. It is organized with sunbeds, umbrellas and there is a beach bar.
This is scenery found often in Tinos. Isternia is a village built on a mountain-hill and it has its beach on the foot of the mountain. To reach Isternia beach, about 25km away from the main port, you first pass the village. From here, you will enjoy stunning view of the bay where the beach is. Of course, next to Isternia beach, there is a costal settlement. After your swim, you can enjoy delicious dishes here, in one of the local taverns.
Isternia beach consists of powdery sand and it is not organized. Therefore you might think of bringing few supplies with you. Water is a “must” and if you have your own beach umbrella, you can take it with you. There are few trees on the beach but the space in the shade below them might be occupied. Isternia, due to the fact that it is far from the main town, is not among popular Tinos beaches. Yet, because of its beauty and serenity, it attracts local people. You should know that the beach might be affected by strong north winds, but not its sea. Because of its location in a bay, it usually doesn’t have waves.
To reach Isternia beach, you will have to use your own means of transport, as there are no buses towards this beautiful place.
Kalivia beach is situated on the west coast of the island, about 16 km away from the main town. It is also one of the famous Tinos beaches, as it features both organized part, as well as unspoiled. Therefore, it attracts both tourists and local people. It consists of sand and in some spots, of combination of sand and pebbles. The organized part of Kalivia has a beach bar. It offers sunbeds and umbrellas, as well as drinks and lunch. The sea of Kalivia is not affected by north winds. Therefore, the beach usually does not have waves. Yet, it might be windy, especially during day when Meltemi wind is blowing.
If you decide to visit Kalivia beach, you should know that there is a second beach nearby. It is actually the beach of Kardiani village and it is called Ormos Giannaki or Ormos Kardianis. Kardiani village is situated “above” Kalivia beach, about 5 km away. This is one of the most famous villages on Tinos Island due to its beauty. Therefore, you should not miss the chance of visiting it!
To reach Kalivia beach, you will have to use your own mean of transport. This will suit nicely with the idea of visiting Kardiani village and Ormos Kardianis.
Lychnaftia is one of unspoiled Tinos beaches. It is defiantly recommended to those visitors of the island who loves quiet natural environment away from crowds. Everything is peaceful here and there are only few homes near Lychnaftia beach. It consists of large white and black pebbles. You should know that it is affected by north wind. Therefore, it is useful to know that the most protected spot is on the north part of the beach. Lychnaftia is situated on the east coast of the island, about 10km away from the capital. This is one of Tinos beaches where you should bring your own supplies. You will not find even a tavern nearby and therefore you should have with you sufficient amount of water and maybe a picnic basket. Lychnaftia is accessible only by car or a scooter.
Ormos Giannaki is situated on the west side of the island and it is one of Tinos beaches that “belongs” to a village built on the mountain. It is considered as the main beach of Kardiani village. This is one of the most beautiful places on the island and Ormos Giannaki is less than 6 km away from the village. If you wish to reach it from Tinos main town, you will need a car as it is 16 km away. It consists of small pebbles and in some spots of sand. There is a tavern on the beach along with few umbrellas. This is the place where you can enjoy delicious dishes right on the sand of the beach. Of course, there is also another tavern at the entrance of the bay. From here you will enjoy traditional cuisine with panoramic view of the beach.
Although Ormos Giannaki is protected in a bay, it might get windy. Therefore, because of its location, it usually doesn’t have waves yet the wind is always there. If you don’t have your own umbrella to protect yourself from the sun, you should know that there are few trees on the beach. A tip here is that the nice part of the beach is on the west side. The location is one of the “unknown” Tinos beaches to visitors of the island. It attracts mostly local people. You should know that just south of Ormos Giannaki, there is Kalivia beach.
If you visit Ormos Giannaki, please don’t forget to make a stop in Kardiani village. It is an amazing small village, featuring picturesque alleys and amazing view of Aegean Sea.
Pachia Ammos is one of the secluded Tinos beaches, “made” for nature lovers. Because there is no tourism infrastructure here, you will be impressed by the serenity of this location. You will find Pachia Ammos on the south-east coast of the island, about 9 km away from the capital. To reach this amazing beach, you will need a car or a scooter. Yet, the road does not reach all the way to the sand. Therefore, you will have to walk few hundred meters. As Pachia Ammos is surrounded by small cliffs, you will have to walk down of it. Of course you should know that the result is really worth it! The beach consists of powdery sand and the sea is absolutely amazing.
As Pachia Ammos is not organized, you will not find anything here. There are no taverns and shops nearby as well. Therefore, you need to be prepared. You should definitely have an umbrella with you, to be protected from the sun. Large amount of water is also important. As on the both sides of the beach you will find rocks, the underwater environment might be interested. So, if you are snorkeling enthusiast, you should take your equipment with you.
Livada beach is another secluded Tinos beach. You will find it on the south-east coast of the island, about 19 km away from the capital. It is another quiet environment, away from tourism facilities. If you love nature, this is another place to find yourself swimming. If you wish to visit Livada beach, you will need your own means of transport. You should come prepared too. Although there is a tavern, almost on the beach, we suggest you have some supplies with. That is because, depending on the season or time of the day, the tavern might be closed and you don’t want to be without water here. Mostly because you will not find any shop nearby.
Livada beach is situated in a small bay yet, it is affected by north wings. This means that it is exposed to waves, especially during days when north winds (Meltemi) are blowing. On the north side of the beach, there are impressive rock formations, which look like similar to those on Kolymbithres beach in Paros. The beach consists of small and big pebbles. There are few trees here offering natural shade but if you have beach umbrella, you should take it with you. This is also interesting location for those who like to swim with mask and flippers. You should know that behind the rocks on the south side of the beach, there is a smaller one. It also consists of small pebbles and it is recommended to those visitors who seek even more privacy.
Platia Ammos is a classic Cycladic beach. It is quite secluded, situated just after Kionia. It consists mainly of sand and in some spots of pebbled. You should know that the main road does not reach Platia Ammos. Therefore, you will have to walk few meters to reach it. You will not find either beach bar, either sunbeds or umbrellas here. Due to this fact, you will need to bring with you few supplies. Of course, if you have your own sun umbrella, you should take it with you.
This is one of Tinos beaches which usually does not have waves. That is because it is “turned” toward south and therefore it is not affected much by the wind. During days with good visibility, you will see as far as Paros Island from Platia Ammos.
It is easy reachable from Tinos main town, as it is about 3.5 km away, on the south coast of the island.
Kavalourko features unique natural environment, on the north east coast of the island. It is one of the most secluded Tinos beaches yet, it is highly recommended to people who love privacy, serenity and nature. It is situated about 28 km away from the capital of the island. We suggest you use Google Maps to see the environment from above and conclude if it is worth the trip. We believe that it does.
The beach consists of sand and pebbles. There are few small trees here but you will have to bring your umbrella in order to be protected from the sun. Crystal sea is amazing here, without waves. Yet, the beach can be windy during days with strong north winds called Meltemi. There are rocks on both sides of Kavalourko and therefore, the underwater environment might be interesting. This is useful information for those who love to swim with mask.
On your way towards Kavalourko, you will pass Panormos settlement. This will be the last “sign of civilization” and therefore your last chance to get water and some snacks.
